English hedgerows bloom with clusters of delicate elderflowers in May, while the white Muscat grape ripens in vineyards towards the end of summer. Elderflower grows in temperate climates and has been used in Northern Europe for hundreds, maybe even thousands of years to make cordials and drinks. The Muscat grape has a long and established history dating back as far as Greek and Roman times. Classical writers often mention this particular grape variety because of its heady smell and impressive ripeness, creating wines with real finesse and a particularly pure, floral grape-like profile. It’s this fullness of flavour that so compliments the fragrant elderflower blossom.
