A Time For Growth & New Beginnings

The spring or vernal equinox marks the start of spring and is a cause for celebration here at the brewery. For many of us, it means not only the promise of warmer weather, more daylight and being outdoors but also a time to embrace new beginnings and growth.

In a spiritual and metaphysical sense, the spring equinox is associated with rebirth and renewal and can be seen as an opportunity for personal growth. A time for reflection and a chance to set intentions in alignment with the seasonal energy of spring. Both literally and figuratively you can plant “seeds” or intentions that you hope to harvest in the future.

Welcome the Spring Equinox

To help attune with the natural world after the dark days of winter, many people like to wake up to greet the rising sun and give recognition to the sun’s renewed strength and the beginning of longer days. If you’re not an early riser, then why not welcome spring later in the day either on your own or with friends and family? Anything nature-related is a great way to celebrate the equinox and realign oneself to the movement of the seasons. That could be eating outdoors in the garden, taking a walk round the park or going on a trip to the beach.

Attune Your Senses

If the weather permits and you feel safe to do so, you could take time to sit outside and attune all your senses to your environment. Take a few deep breaths and set the intention to be fully present. Allow yourself to become receptive and open to what is around you. You might notice the sun warm upon your face, the sound of bird song, the smell of the air. Just be and in the stillness notice what calls your attention. This moment is for you and only you. What will you do with what you receive? What positive action and reaction will occur through this creative process with mother nature?

Grow & Create

We believe we’re in a reciprocal relationship with the Earth. Time spent outside on the spring equinox can remind us of our ability to grow and create. As the saying goes, ‘what we put in, we get back’. In other words, what we give in planting and nurturing new seeds, we will receive back over the coming months. For example, what foods are you craving or what flowers do you want to see blooming? This can help you choose what you’d like to plant in flower beds or in pots for your windowsill.

Spring is a season for letting go to allow a fresh start and manifest new intentions. We often need to pull up ‘weeds’ to make space for the new seeds that we want to sow. This can be done in both a literal and figurative sense with respectful recognition that what was here once and worked well, must now change. What are you looking for more of in your life? What do you need to let go of to make space for new beginnings?

What a wonderful time of year. Here’s to the spring equinox and new opportunities. Together we’ll be eating lunch at the table outside the brewery and celebrating healthily with a glass of sparkling, non-alcoholic Heritage!
